Yesterday is now gone! So, the way to move forward from yesterday's situations is to look at where you are at the present moment and say to yourself, "This is where I find myself, it is what it is". Once you resolve that fact then it's time to move forward.
Too many people live their lives confined in the straitjacket of negative experiences. You don’t have to be one of them. Holding onto a toxic past takes up too much mental and emotional space and energy. It leaves you unable to focus on your present and future.
Brush off your past mistakes and failures. Let them be a classroom of learning and move on. Living in the past can be paralyzing and keep you from taking ground in your next season. Don’t wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now.
Let’s face it; this is up to you. I can give you all the tips, tricks, hints and information you want, but until you latch onto something that works for you, you won’t ever let go. Start by telling yourself: “I can’t make my past go away, I can’t change what has happened, but I can choose to stop allowing it to dominate my life. No matter how bad things were, those things are done and gone, and I am still here. I have decided to no longer allow my past to damage me further.”
Let God's grace cover you and let His mercy and grace begin to remove the past hurts and pains.
The Apostle Paul tells us to “throw off everything that hinders us and the sin that so easily entangles us” (Hebrews 12.1 NIV). Every day we have a chance to renew our mind in Christ. This allows Him to take all that hinders us on Himself so we can run “the race He has planned for us.” If we are not careful these hinderances can become sin that trips us up and slows us down. Giving it to God may seem scary at first, but our surrender will bring us freedom.
Have you ever watched swimmers? They know that to swim with speed and perseverance they have to let go of everything. Some will even shave the hair on their entire body because a slick, clean surface makes all the difference. In our lives then every day we must choose to let go of what’s behind, so we have a smooth surface surrendered to God. When we let go, we give God a clean slate to do His work in our lives.
If you are going to really let the past hurts and failures go then realize it will be a daily choice. Like every discipline in life, we must learn to surrender and give it to God. Every new day the enemy seeks to cloud our mind with worries, doubts, and fears. The devil wants there to be no room left for God in our lives. Surrendering to God becomes a lifestyle of daily giving it all to Him.
As you awoke today, embrace the truth that it's a new day for moving forward. SO MOVE ON!! God will guide you into what you need for today! With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful.
